Green Balance provides optimal health support throughout the different seasons.

Main properties

Application

• For all horse breeds, for any age
• As a valuable supplement to hay, haylage and outdoor grazing
• To replace concentrated feed containing cereals
• Ideal in combination with Natural base or Pre-Active.

Special recommendations:

Pour 1 part feed with 1 part water and soak for 15 min before feeding. This prevents the risk of oesophageal blockage in horses that do not chew their feed sufficiently, in horses with poor teeth and in horses that eat their feed too quickly, resulting in insufficient salivation. If the feed is made wet, the stalks and leaf parts absorb water again and this also increases the palatability of the feed.

Always provide plenty of clean drinking water at the feeding place.

• Recreation: 150 g per 100 kg body weight per day, supplemented additionally with 20% Pre-Active or Natural base
• Sport: 200-300 g per 100 kg body weight per day, supplemented with 20% Pre-Active or Natural base
• Young horses: 300 g per 100 kg body weight per day, supplemented with 20% Pre-Active or Natural base
• Resting horses: 100-200 g per 100 kg body weight per day, supplemented additionally with the same amount of Pre-Active or Natural base

The amount of feed should be adjusted to the season, age and daily energy requirements of your horse or pony.

Can this be used as a complete feed or do I need to add another vitamin/mineral (Balancer) supplement?

Green Balance, like all other EquiFyt feeds (Alfalfa blend, Green Power, Gold), contains all the vitamins and minerals (balancer) a horse needs. You do not need to add an extra vitamin supplement to this, unless a deficiency has been established.

However, we always recommend feeding this feed in combination with Pre-Active. That way you have an even more complete feed with the necessary herbs in it, providing maximum support for your horse's general health.

Does Green Balance need to be soaked?

Green Power can be fed without adding water.

However, some owners prefer to soak this product with a small amount of water or simply moisten it under the tap. This makes the feed more palatable for the horses as the grass and herb fibres reabsorb water and in doing so also reduces the risk of a possible oesophageal obstruction for horses that eat too quickly or too greedily, or in horses that do not chew their food well or have poor teeth.
The decision on whether or not to moisten the feed is always in the hands of the horse owner, who can best assess how and in what conditions his horse eats.
