Grass / Herb pellets

The grass and herb pellet Herbs consists of more than 60 different herbs and grasses from the Bavarian Alpine foreland. These were dried with hot air and pressed into extra-large chunks. This purely natural and fibre-rich roughage ensures that the horse gets enough essential nutrients. Due to the particularly quality-saving method of drying, the grass and herb pellet Herbs possesses a higher nutrient, mineral and vitamin content in contrast to other feeds.

Application

• as a basic roughage ration (100% hay replacement)
• as a high-quality supplement to hay, haylage and grazing
• as a replacement for concentrated feed
• for horses with dental problems, so that they too can eat sufficient roughage
• when there is a shortage of useful crude fibre in the normal roughage ration
• horses with respiratory problems due to dust and mould in roughage
• older horses losing body weight
• for increased moisture absorption (if pellets are soaked)
• easy to add medication

Special recommendations:

Pour 1 part feed with 1.5 to 3 parts water and soak for 15 min before feeding. This prevents the risk of oesophageal blockage in horses that do not chew their feed sufficiently, in horses with poor dentition and in horses that eat their feed too quickly, resulting in insufficient salivation. If the feed is made wet, the stalks and leaf parts absorb water again and this also increases the palatability of the feed.

Always provide plenty of clean drinking water at the feeding place.

Use

• As a replacement of the basic ration of roughage: daily approx. 1.5 kg per 100 kg body weight
• As a qualitative supplement to the basic ration of roughage: the quantity should be adjusted to the quantity of the basic ration: 1 kg Herbs replaces 1 kg hay
• As a replacement for concentrate feed: 1.2kg of EquiFyt Herbs replaces approx. 1kg of grain.

Preparation: soak 1kg Herbs in 1.5 to 3 litres of water.

The quantity of feed should be adjusted to the age and daily energy requirements of your horse or pony.

Herbs contains no added vitamins or minerals. It may therefore be advisable to add a Balancer to the feed.
